Everything stays on your phone
Companion for GTA VI is an unofficial, fan-made Android app by Foundry Works. This page explains what it keeps, where it goes online and what it never does. Last updated 28 October 2026.
The short version
- No account and no sign-in.
- No analytics and no tracking.
- Everything you enter is stored on your phone and nowhere else. We have no server and receive nothing.
What the app keeps on your phone
Your profile, including the photo you choose for it and who stands on Home; your settings; your themes; and the last copy of the news. None of it leaves your phone.
Where the app goes online
The app goes online for the four things below. The guide’s lists ship with the app; only their pictures are fetched, from the GTA Wiki’s image server, when a page shows them, and the news is fetched from this website. Google Play’s requests are handled by Google Play on your phone, and Google’s own privacy policy applies to them.

Checking whether a newer version of the app is available, and installing it when you agree.
The News page's stories, fetched when you open it so the list is up to date; the last copy is kept for when you are offline. It is a plain file request; nothing about you is sent with it.
The pictures on the Characters, Vehicles, Weapons, Locations, Gallery and Properties pages, loaded when you open them. Nothing about you is sent beyond what any picture request carries.
Supporting the app
Every feature is free. The optional support purchase is a one-off payment through Google Play, which handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
Permissions
- Internet, for Google Play billing, in-app updates, the news and the guide’s pictures.
- The app does not ask for permission to send notifications.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android’s settings, deletes everything it has stored. As we hold nothing about you, there is nothing to request from us.
